Blue Internet I-IV

The conceptual installation “Blue Internet” consists of a series of digital assets—labeled consecutively as “Blue Internet I-IV”—displaying different text-based depictions inspired by the visual aesthetic of retro computers and key components of digital language within the early Internet era. Within the fictional spheres of “BlueInternet.exe” and its underlying “Nostalgia Software (v20.8.13)” program, the viewers get absorbed into a long-gone online world through a vague, substantially limited storyline presented in four parts, inviting them to travel through the Ethernet in order to revisit their very own, desired idea of a virtual reality defined by low-resolution computer graphics, buggy loading screens and a private chat room with their younger self.
Mirroring the infamous blue screens from Window XP’s user interface and other typical themes of the 2000s computer era, the artist explores both Gen Z’s nostalgic obsession with this specific age of the Internet and her own sentimental connection to this distinct aesthetic as a digital native who spent her entire childhood growing up alongside the vast technological advances of the early 21st century.
