*broken mirror, wooden block (customized with handwritten marker inscriptions)
The replica of a screen built entirely out of trash, inoperable but still created to its visual resemblance.
As a metaphor of modern society’s religious obsession with digital media, it examines the worshipping and glorifying connection we feel towards the electronic devices we use on a daily basis.
A fragmentary, distorted reflection of both oneself and other people, much similar to the curated version of ourselves we display in the digital world, which however doesn’t reflect our actual, real self. Can digital encounters actually be considered equivalent to physical encounters? Or is it merely our glorification of the digital space giving us the impression of true interpersonal connection through digital media?
